Our Stories

Cowardice and Betrayal
‘Cowardice and Betrayal’ is a novella about a man who betrays his city in an act of desperation, and ends up getting hunted down by his friends because of it. It’s set in a post-apocalyptic, barren world, and there’s no where to run to outside of the city. The story mainly focuses on his attempts to try avoid capture, while trying to find a way to piece his life back together.

Fear and Loathing in Suburbia
‘Fear and Loathing in Suburbia’ was something that I had written years earlier. I had to write it for an English class, and it was the first story I’d written in about ten years. It’s a sort of a faux-noir essay about my real life battle with caffeine addiction.

The Life and Times of God II
This is a story about a young man who’s not doing terribly well at life, and he suddenly finds himself with unlimited, God-like power. It’s a fairly short novella, and I tried to steer clear of the typical “be careful what you wish for” cliches, but it is primarily about how we don’t always know what’s best for us and that life is not always better when things turn out the way we want. It’s also a love story. A very strange, unhealthy love story.

Martin – ROUGH DRAFT
Martin’s a novella about a paranoid, apparently schizophrenic man with amnesia whose being targeted by a dark organization from his past that’s being led by an evil doppelgänger named Martin.

The Patriarch – ROUGH DRAFT
The Patriarch is a novella about three vampires who are brought back to life in North Carolina, after having been buried for over a century, and the various lives they affect.

Robert Miller
This is a short story that deals with the two life stories of a simple man named Robert Miller whose having a little trouble with his sanity.

Three Islands
‘Three Islands’ (AKA: Test Tubes and Hand Grenades) spans the course of over a hundred years. It is set on an island off the coast of Portugal and deals with a program there that focuses on genetically enhancing humans. The story is a somewhat “realistic” portrayal of science, so unfortunately there are no half human/half animal hybrids running around. It is mostly a story about morality and legacies… There’s also sex, violence, and drug abuse though, to help the philosophy go down easier.

About Me

Well, my name is Eric Landry. I’m twenty-one and trying to get a double science major.

I’m not a formal writer. In fact, I actually tended to do pretty bad in English. I never bothered to learn grammar and I hate overanalyzing great novels to the point where they lose all value. Ironically enough, I ended up learning how to write on online forums, so most of my grammar tends to be homemade or based off what I remember from books.

I have no particular preferences about writing, when it comes to length. I usually just write for as long as the idea can go. A lot of the stories on here end up being novellas, though. And I like sci-fi/horror themes, simply because it gives me the freedom to make stuff up, instead of having to do all that tedious research on Wikipedia.

I write primarily to entertain myself, and I post them on here primarily to give myself a reason to go back and edit these things.
